Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has set a new benchmark by releasing over Rs 460 crore to more than 2,300 bidders in its recent and ongoing housing scheme. The rapid disbursement, recorded as a record achievement, reflects a positive shift in the work culture at the DDA.
Under the directive of Lt Governor VK Saxena, who also chairs the DDA, the authority took steps to fasten the process. Saxena instructed the DDA to credit Earnest Money Deposits (EMDs) in the bank accounts of applicants within 15 days. This proactive measure aimed to eliminate harassment and bureaucratic red tape for the applicants.
The official statement highlights the success of this initiative, noting that the DDA has outperformed many private and corporate builders in releasing EMDs promptly. EMDs for all but 50 bidders have already been credited to their bank accounts. The remaining 50 face minor delays due to procedural issues with banks, but the DDA assures their swift resolution.
With Saxena's dedicated strategy and direct supervision, the DDA has sold more than 8,000 units from its pending inventory in the last year alone. This demonstrates a dedication to efficient management and responsive governance in the field of housing projects.
The ongoing housing scheme Phase-II includes seven penthouses, 32 Super HIG, and 476 HIG flats in Sector 19B of Dwarka. Additionally, 192 MIG flats in Dwarka's Sector 14 are part of this e-auction. The first-cum-first-serve scheme for various other flats spread across the city is also operational, as per the statement.
The DDA's swift release of funds and efficient handling of housing schemes not only reflects positively on its changing work culture but also sets a standard for public administration.
