The much-anticipated registration for penthouses, super High-Income Group (HIG), and various other flats offered by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) officially commenced last week, marking the initiation of its new housing scheme. Officials have confirmed that the registration process is accessible through an e-brochure, emphasizing the integration of advanced technology into the housing initiative.

Under the banner of the 'Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023,' the DDA aims to streamline the disposal of newly constructed or soon-to-be-completed flats through a comprehensive online system. Notably, 14 penthouses in Dwarka's Sector-19 B, along with 170 super HIGs and 946 HIGs, are up for grabs. Additionally, Sector-14 and Lok Nayak Puram boast 316 and 647 Middle-Income Group (MIG) flats, respectively.

Prospective buyers have until December 29, 6 pm, to complete the online registration for participation in the e-auction and submit the online Earnest Money Deposit (EMD). The final application submission deadline is set for January 1, 2024. The officials have disclosed that the online auction, with a flat-wise schedule to be announced subsequently, will kick off on January 5, 2024.

Notably, the registration for flats offered on a 'first come first serve' (FCFS) basis began on November 24 and is scheduled to close on March 31, 2024. As of November 24, 8 pm, over 350 registrations had already been recorded, surpassing 500 by 9 pm, according to a senior DDA official. The flats available under the FCFS scheme are strategically located in Narela, Dwarka, and Lok Nayak Puram.

The DDA, the highest decision-making body, had given its approval for the launch of this ambitious housing scheme on November 16, paving the way for a wave of anticipation and enthusiasm among potential homeowners. With its commitment to a seamless online process and a diverse range of offerings, the 'Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023' is poised to make homeownership dreams a reality for many.
