Their demand was simple: an immediate handover of the residences they had purchased.
Despite having fulfilled their financial obligations by remitting the full stipulated amount for their flats to the housing board, the homebuyers lamented the protracted delay in obtaining possession of their units. Their ordeal has stretched well beyond the original deadline, which lapsed several years ago. The demonstration witnessed the participation of approximately 100 allottees who gathered in front of the board's office to voice their frustrations.
Commenced in 2011, the project was initially slated for completion within a span of three years. This timeline was aligned with the project's inception and the subsequent initiation of flat bookings. However, the passage of time has seen a dozen years pass, and the venture remains far from complete.
Members of the society claim that the even after repeated attempts to engage with the housing board, no resolution has been found. The society has even registered a formal complaint with the Chief Minister several months ago. The complaint was subsequently forwarded through official channels to the housing and urban development department before finally reaching the OSHB. However, this too has not yielded in any meaningful results.
