The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is requesting plot owners in Sushant Golf City to provide a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the irrigation department for their building plans. This requirement has been implemented due to the ongoing investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the developer, Anal API, for encroachment on canals and irrigation department land. The LDA will form a team to compare the master plan with maps from the irrigation and revenue departments to determine the exact canal alignment. Decisions regarding building plans for affected properties built on encroached land will be made accordingly.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has begun asking plot owners in Sushant Golf City to provide a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the irrigation department to get their building plans approved. This is because the CBI is currently investigating the developer of the township, Anal API, for illegally encroaching upon canals and irrigation department land.
One of the plot owners, who wants to build a house on his 1,000 sq ft plot in sector C of the township, said that he was asked to provide the NOC from the irrigation department when he applied for map approval to the LDA. However, he was told by the irrigation department that they do not have the authority to issue NOCs for construction of row houses.
LDA secretary Pawan Gangwar said that the NOC requirement is a precautionary measure as the developer is under investigation. He said that the LDA will coordinate with the irrigation department to sort out the matter and ensure that no unnecessary inconvenience is caused to the plot owners.
A senior officer from the authority said that the preliminary inquiry by the CBI has revealed that the master plan of the township was approved in an illegal manner. The LDA will constitute a team of officials to superimpose the master plan with maps provided by the irrigation and revenue departments to ascertain the exact alignment of the canals. The LDA will then take a decision on what needs to be done while approving the building plans of the affected properties that have been built over the encroached land.
