In fact, these nationalities constitute a significant portion of the growing real estate market on the Costa del Sol, accounting for over one-third of home sales in the first quarter of this year.



Costa del Sol, located in the southern region of Spain's Andalusia, is a renowned coastal area stretching along the Mediterranean Sea. According to Sonneil, a specialized real estate agency catering to the international market for second homes, the United Kingdom leads the way in foreign investment in Costa del Sol real estate, representing 14% of transactions. Sweden closely follows with 12%, and the Netherlands takes the third spot with 8%.



Desirable locations such as Marbella, Estepona, San Pedro, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, and Mijas attract property buyers from these countries and beyond. In addition to British, Swedish, and Dutch buyers, individuals from Argentina and North America also show interest in purchasing properties on the Costa del Sol. These buyers are drawn to the region for both investment opportunities and the prospect of retiring in the scenic province of Malaga.
