HDMC aims to ensure accountability, improve infrastructure, and attract more companies to position Hubballi as a tech hub.
The HDMC has announced a thorough inspection of Aryabhata Tech Park near Navanagar, Hubbali. This decision comes after complaints regarding the improper utilisation of land allotted to ten companies for IT-BT industry development. The park spans 26 acres and was allocated in two phases, with companies for investments and employment creation.
During a recent general body meeting, concerns were raised about some companies failing to utilize their allocated plots effectively. For example, Diksha Technologies, which received three acres of land at INR 10 lakh per acre in 2008-09, did not meet its operational commitments. Another company, Ion Idea Enterprises Solutions Pvt Ltd, allocated land worth 97.3 lakh last year and requested a cancellation citing unsuitable terrain.
HDMC officials have stated that such issues necessitate a closer look to maintain accountability and ensure that public resources are utilized effectively.
A house committee, including senior HDMC members such as former mayor Iresh Anchatgeri and opposition leader Raju Kamati, has been constituted to investigate. The panel will check if the companies followed their arguments. This includes starting operations on time, making investments, and creating jobs. A former mayor said the inspection will ensure companies meet their commitments. The panel will also review the park's infrastructure development.
If the committee finds violations, HDMC will take strict action. An official said transparency and accountability in land use are important. The process will also help plan future development and attract more companies to the park.
The findings of the inspection are expected to provide insights into improving the park's utilization and infrastructure. HDMC wants to hold companies accountable. This will build confidence in the region as a hub for IT-BT industries.
