The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is focusing on enhancing its housing schemes by improving the environment around residential areas and upgrading unsold inventory. After receiving a positive response to three recent housing schemes launched last month, the DDA is prioritising the development of green spaces to uplift the quality of life for buyers. These efforts are primarily being led by DDA's horticulture department, which is actively working on creating green pockets in and around housing complexes. The goal is to provide a pleasant, clean, and aesthetically pleasing living environment for residents. Additionally, the authority is making final improvements to housing blocks to increase their appeal and value.

In collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the DDA is also focused on maintaining cleanliness in areas under MCD's jurisdiction. The DDA is ensuring that areas under its own jurisdiction receive regular cleaning and upkeep. Officials emphasised that the authority is leaving no stone unturned to create a cleaner, greener environment for prospective homebuyers.

As per official reports, around 1,650 out of nearly 9,000 flats offered in phase I of the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme and Madhyam Vargiya Housing Scheme 2024 are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis. These flats are spread across several locations, including Jasola, Narela, Rohini, Loknayakpuram, Ramgarh, and Siraspur, and are available in various categories to accommodate different buyers.

In addition to these offerings, over 130 out of 169 flats put up for sale through e-auction in the Dwarka Housing Scheme have already been sold. These flats, located in sectors 14, 16B, and 19B of Dwarka, are available under the Penthouse, HIG, Super HIG, and MIG categories.

In the Sasta Ghar and Madhyam Vargiya Housing schemes, more than 1,200 flats in the Low-Income Group (LIG) category and 440 flats in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category have been sold. Among the most successful areas, Rohini saw all 708 LIG flats sold, while Narela and Ramgarh followed closely, with 250 and 153 LIG flats sold, respectively. In the EWS segment, Narela accounted for around 300 flats, and Loknayakpuram saw all 139 flats booked.

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who is closely monitoring the progress of these housing schemes, praised the DDA's efforts to serve economically disadvantaged sections by providing affordable housing. The DDA's focus on LIG and EWS flats underscores their commitment to offering homes at modest rates for these groups.

Further development in Narela includes projects to improve connectivity, such as the construction of educational institutions, a metro rail corridor, and upgrades to the road network, drainage systems, electrical grids, water supply, and sewerage systems.
