NBCC (India) has announced a major initiative to develop and redevelop various projects in Goa, with an estimated investment of around INR 10,000 crore, phased for efficient resource management. The first phase includes six projects valued over INR 1,700 crore, covering notable locations such as Junta House and M.G. Road. Additionally, NBCC will conduct a feasibility study for redeveloping the Vasco bus stand and will act as the project management consultant for future state-funded initiatives, ensuring a collaborative approach with the Goa government.
NBCC (India) has outlined an ambitious plan to develop and redevelop various projects in Goa, with a total estimated investment of approximately INR 10,000 crore. This initiative will be implemented in phases to ensure efficient execution and management of resources.
The first phase of this extensive development will include six specific projects, with a combined estimated value exceeding INR 1,700 crore. These projects will collectively occupy a total plot area of around 53,000 square metres and will feature a substantial built-up area of approximately 185,000 square metres.
Among the planned developments are commercial spaces located at notable sites, including Junta House, 18th June Road, and the Government Garage on M.G. Road in Panjim. In addition to these commercial endeavours, there will be an administrative building constructed in Porvorim, a circuit house and hotel established in Altinho, and government quarters that will integrate both commercial and residential spaces in St. Inez. Furthermore, a dedicated commercial space for a mini convention centre will be developed in Tiswadi Patto, enhancing the infrastructure and facilities available in the area.
In addition to overseeing these projects, NBCC will also take on the responsibility of conducting a feasibility study for the redevelopment of the Vasco bus stand. This study will provide critical insights and recommendations to guide the redevelopment process effectively.
Importantly, the government of Goa will retain a portion of the built-up area from these projects after all project expenses have been accounted for. This arrangement ensures that the government benefits from the developments while also fostering a collaborative relationship with NBCC. Moreover, NBCC will act as the project management consultant (PMC) for any other developmental initiatives that receive funding from the state government. This role will involve overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of additional projects, thereby reinforcing NBCC's commitment to supporting the government's developmental goals in the region.
This ambitious plan by NBCC aims to enhance Goa's infrastructure significantly while fostering a strong partnership with the state government, positioning the region for sustained growth and development.
