The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is investing INR 3.5 crore to upgrade and beautify four high-rise residential societies in the city: Parijat, Srishti, Smriti, and Anubhuti apartments. Key initiatives include INR 93 lakh for exterior enhancements and a new boundary wall at Parijat, along with INR 1.58 crore for waterproofing at Srishti to address basement leaks. Recreational facilities, such as a skating rink in Lohia Park, will cost INR 1.3 crore. Additional safety measures include INR 15 lakh for utilities in Smriti and a park enhancement at Anubhuti. The LDA is also focusing on a INR 2 crore irrigation project along the Gomti Riverfront and a solar power plant for INR 25 lakh at Jyotiba Phule Zonal Park, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable urban living and community safety.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced a significant investment aimed at upgrading and beautifying four high-rise residential societies in the city. A budget of INR 3.5 crore has been earmarked for this initiative, with the goal of enhancing living conditions and infrastructure for residents.
LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar shared details of the project last week, highlighting the focus on important civil works. The four societies targeted for upliftment are Parijat, Srishti, Smriti, and Anubhuti apartments. Each project is designed to tackle specific issues and improve security, aesthetics, and functionality.
The most substantial allocation is for Parijat Apartment, where INR 93 lakh is set aside for a series of improvements. This includes exterior painting and the construction of a new 31-meter boundary wall along the service road of the Ayodhya National Highway. A new 6-meter gate will also be built to enhance security and improve access for residents. Additionally, waterproofing work at Srishti Apartment is scheduled to begin, with INR 1.58 crore dedicated to resolving leaking issues in the basement parking area, a problem many residents have faced, especially during the rainy season.
Another focus of the initiative is on recreational facilities. A new skating rink and skateboard bowl are planned for Lohia Park in Gomtinagar, costing INR 1.3 crore. This addition is aimed at providing residents, especially the youth, with more outdoor activities and sports opportunities.
In Smriti Apartment, approximately INR 15 lakh will be invested in the installation of various utilities such as motors, power backup systems, intercoms, and CCTV cameras. This initiative aims to improve the overall safety and comfort of the residents. Plans also include the addition of swings and benches in the park areas, promoting a community atmosphere among residents.
At Anubhuti Apartment, a budget of INR 39 lakh will facilitate the construction of a 135-meter boundary wall, along with the development of a park area that will feature dustbins, benches, and landscaping. These enhancements aim to create a more pleasant environment for residents and to encourage outdoor activities.
Beyond the immediate upgrades to residential areas, the LDA has initiated tenders for a larger project focused on the Gomti Riverfront. An impressive INR 2 crore will be invested in developing an underground irrigation system that spans from the stadium to Lohia Bridge. This system will feature underground pipelines, sprinklers, and pop-ups, ensuring that the greenery along the riverfront is well maintained.
Additionally, a 50-kilowatt solar power plant will be established at the Jyotiba Phule Zonal Park for approximately INR 25 lakh. This initiative aligns with the city's growing commitment to sustainability and renewable energy solutions.
In response to safety concerns, the LDA is also planning to implement road safety measures across various sectors of the city. An estimated budget of INR 98 lakh will be allocated for safety enhancements on several roads in Sector-J of the Basant Kunj scheme. This will include the identification and treatment of "black spots," areas that are prone to accidents, thereby prioritizing the safety of commuters and pedestrians.
Overall, these coordinated efforts by the Lucknow Development Authority reflect a commitment to improving urban living conditions, enhancing safety, and promoting sustainable development within the city. With these upgrades underway, residents can look forward to a revitalized living environment that caters to community needs and encourages a higher quality of life.
