Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has unveiled plans to distribute Indiramma housing units across Telangana's 119 assembly constituencies. The initial phase, scheduled to complete by the end of October, will see 3,500-4,000 units allocated per constituency. The government's broader vision involves providing housing to all eligible underprivileged families over a four-year period, with a target of distributing at least 20 lakh units.

The minister emphasised that this distribution would be carried out without any bias based on caste, religion, region, or political affiliation. The announcement was made during an event where housing documents for double-bedroom houses were distributed to beneficiaries in the Goshamahal constituency. The minister also revealed that discussions have been held with the Union Housing Joint Secretary during their recent Hyderabad visit, requesting substantial central funding under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for the state's housing initiatives.

Despite these financial constraints, Prabhakar assured that the current government, under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka (who also serves as Finance Minister), remains committed to implementing all promises made in their election manifesto. The Indiramma housing scheme represents one of several campaign promises being systematically fulfilled by the Congress government. The initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to addressing housing needs while managing inherited financial difficulties, marking a significant step in their social welfare agenda.
