The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has introduced a new system for delivering flat documents to buyers in a customised folder, following instructions from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. This folder includes all essential documents, such as the possession letter and various certificates, aiming to simplify the process and enhance the buyer experience. Additionally, a new format for the possession slip will feature a photograph of the buyer to ensure authenticity and add a memorable touch to the transaction. This initiative, starting with Golf View Apartments in Dwarka, reflects the DDA's commitment to improving property transactions.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has commenced the process of delivering flat documents to buyers in a bespoke folder, which includes all pertinent paperwork, as per the directive of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, according to an official statement released last week. Previously, DDA flat buyers received only a single loose paper as a possession letter upon purchasing their flats. Now, they will receive an elegant folder with all essential documents printed on high-quality bond paper.
The Lieutenant Governor identified the absence of documents-due to issues such as non-availability, disputes, or loss-as a major concern affecting numerous individuals, groups, and processes within the DDA. He had instructed the DDA to create a folder that includes not only the possession letter but also all relevant documents for the buyers, as stated in the release. While overseeing the implementation of the DDA Housing Schemes over the past year, Saxena had directed the DDA to address this issue effectively, the statement noted. He emphasised that purchasing a house or property is a significant, often once-in-a-lifetime event for most buyers, and it should be treated as a special and memorable occasion by the DDA.
In response, the DDA has decided to provide flat documents in a customized folder. This folder will encompass all essential documents, including the demand-cum-allotment letter (DAL), payment receipt, possession letter (PL), no objection certificates (NOC) for water and electricity, possession slip, RERA registration certificate, and the layout plan. This will streamline the process by consolidating all documents into a single location, eliminating the need to visit multiple DDA departments.
Following the Lieutenant Governor's directives, the DDA has also introduced a new format for the possession slip, which now features a photograph of the flat buyer or allottee receiving the possession letter at the site. This new practice aims to enhance the memorability of the occasion and to prevent any potential fraud by ensuring possession is handed over to the correct individual, according to the statement.
Recently, the DDA has rolled out three housing schemes designed to accommodate all categories of people at various locations, including Narela, Dwarka, Siraspur, Ramgarh, Rohini, Loknayakpuram, and Jasola. This practice of providing a folder with all relevant documents began with the distribution to customers or buyers at Golf View Apartments in Sector-19B, Dwarka, on Wednesday. Moving forward, all physical possession of flats will be delivered in this same manner.
The Delhi Development Authority's new initiative to provide flat documents in a comprehensive, customised folder represents a significant step towards enhancing the buyer experience and streamlining administrative processes. By incorporating all necessary paperwork into a single, elegant package and introducing a new possession slip format, the DDA aims to make property transactions more efficient and memorable while safeguarding against potential fraud. This reform underscores the DDA's commitment to improving service delivery and celebrating the important milestone of property ownership.
