The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has recently acquired over 12 hectares of land in Piyarepur village for the Edium City project, also known as the Mohan Road scheme. This process began 15 days ago and involved signing agreements with local farmers. This is part of a bigger plan to turn the area into a modern urban center with roads, sewers, and green spaces. To address concerns, the LDA has increased compensation rates for farmers in Piyarepur. A budget of INR 225 crore has been set for the first phase of the development. This project will focus on roads, sewers, and other infrastructure.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is making progress with its Edium City Project, a new urban area on Mohan Road. Led by Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar, the LDA started acquiring land in Piyarepur village 15 days ago. So far, 15 farmers have agreed to sell their land. They have handed over more than 12 hectares for the project.
The LDA had already acquired 785 acres of land in Piyarepur and Kalyakhera villages for the Edium City project. Farmers in Piyarepur complained that they received less compensation than those in Kalyakhera. To address this, the LDA has increased compensation rates for Piyarepur landowners. They have set up a special camp in Piyarepur to help with these negotiations and agreements.
The Edium City project will be developed like Panchkula-Chandigarh. And, with the land acquisition moving forward, development work for this project will begin soon. The first phase will include building roads, sewers, water supply, electrification, and drainage. The LDA has issued an INR 225 crore tender for these initial works. This project will also reserve 74 acres for educational institutions and 160 acres for green spaces. This project aims to improve living standards and create a modern urban environment. Also, it draws inspiration from the Panchkula-Chandigarh model.
The Edium City project is moving forward. The land has been acquired, and compensation problems have been sorted out. This project will be a big development for Lucknow. The LDA is focused on building good infrastructure and making sure compensation is fair. They are committed to creating a well-planned and fair new urban area.
