Last week, the Punjab Housing And Urban Development department held its "first of its kind" camp to issue clearance certificates related to real estate to 51 colonizers. Housing and urban development minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and chief secretary KAP Sinha presented various documents, including colony licences, completion certificates, partial completion certificates, letters of intent, zoning plans, building plans, promoter registration certificates, and layout plans to the builders.
Mundian stated that the camp aims to address the pending matters in the real estate sector, and he announced that another camp would be held at the end of November. He added that the department is dedicated to resolving developers' issues transparently and on a priority basis. To facilitate this, an email address, transparency.hud@gmail.com, has been established for direct complaints.
Housing Secretary Rahul Tewari stated that the camp would address the stalled projects of promoters and developers in the state. During the event, certificates from various authorities were distributed, and feedback was collected. Special Secretary Apneet Riyat facilitated the proceedings of the camp, and Neeru Katia Gupta, chief administrator of the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA), was also in attendance.
Jagjit Singh Majha, President of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) Punjab, stated that the initiative would boost the real estate sector, serving both as a significant contributor to the state's economy and promoting sustainable urban development. H.S. Kandhari from Mohali Greensville Infra LLP praised the initiative as a measure that prioritizes the needs of the people.
The Punjab government's proactive measures in organizing this camp demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the real estate sector, ensuring transparency, and ultimately driving sustainable urban growth in the region.
